 Follows the story of one of the most remarkable cultural events in recent years - the creation of THE 99 - the first Islamic superheroes with their own comic books, theme parks and animation series. Conceived with the intention of countering the forces of political and religious extremism, THE 99 and its creator Naif Al-Mutawa now find themselves at the center of a debate throughout the Islamic world over shifting definitions of the sacred and the secular in the 21st century.
